Meet the letters! This publication is designed for the first meeting with the letters, their sounds and connections between them. Children can feel the letters, try out the hand stroke, just like when we write in the sand. At the same time, it is a game based on the familiar principle of „name, city, animal, thing“ but it provides many more opportunities to develop imagination.
Pre-school children are spontaneously interested in letters and it is good to encourage them to be. Research has shown that children who know at least a few letters and sounds before starting school find it easier to learn to read later on.
The principle of upper and lower case is supported by figures depicting an adult, a young child and their interaction with each other.
The book also provides a link between visual recognition of letters and spoken language sounds. Matching letters with spoken words helps children become aware of the syllables. And this is essential for successful reading practice later in life.
